Android OS

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on the linux kernel and it is designed for touchscreen phones and tablets. Android has a growing selection of third-party applications, which can be used by the users by downloading and installing the application, or by downloading them using an application store program that allows its users to install, update, and remove applications and delete them if one doesn’t use them, from their devices. Google Play Store is an application store installed on Android devices that allows the users to download multiple applications just within the click or touch of the screen. Google Play Store allows users to browse, download and update applications published by the developers. There are more than one million applications available for Android in Play store. In a month of 2013, 48 billion applications were installed from Google play store.[update]
Some of the applications on play store are for sale you can’t use them unless you buy them so the users pay the bill monthly for their applications or pay it right at the spot by using debit cards.
In Android system whenever the applications installed by the user are updated by the third party developers, a notification appears on the Android device to update the applications so that the user may have access to the new features the third party developers have included in their system.
Android supports opensource frame work which means that the third party developers can modify or change the features of Android OS according to their will. following are the features of android OS:
     features:

·         It supports  2D and 3D  graphics.

·         It supports multiple languages.

·         It supports JAVA.

·         It supports web browser.

·         It supports MP4, 3GP, MPEGA, MIDI.

·         It has an additional hardware support.

·         It supports video calling.

·         Android supports opensource framework. And since it is an open source and a part of open handset alliance, most of the leading handset manufactures in the world have Android phones.

·         In an Android system the use of tools are very easy and simple.

·         Most of the applications on the application store of an Android handset or computer are free as compared to the paid applications on the other OS.

·         It has an inbuilt support for the flash.

·         It helps the user to change his settings faster.

·         It has updated user interface design.

·         It can support multiple cameras.

·         It is entirely based on linux platform.

·         It gives freedom of development to develop new applications. It is very portable.
As everything has its own limitations Android also has some limitations and they are as follows:

·         It has limited memory for storage. The user has to use a memory card but has to be very careful as the memory is not much because you cannot store your applications in your memory card. You cannot move the applications in the memory card.

·         When you use a number of applications the android system shows errors, force close the application which is very annoying for the users.

·         Android has a large number of background processes which keeps on running while you use your device and this consumes a large amount of battery.

·         Android has large number of background process which runs in the background, which eats so much mobile data. And thus cost lots of money if you are not into unlimited data plan.

·         The play store of android has many malware applications which are a warning to your device.

·         Over heating is very common in Android phones. Your device heats up when multiple applications are working simultaneously. The heating of the device also disturbs the phones battery’s life.

·         The limited memory can be overcome by using a memory card but using a memory card can hamper the phones speed.

·         Data safety is another problem and the fear of losing data forever always hovers over users.

·         Due to cache buildup, the phone's operational speed and experience can reduce and cause severe lags

·          Android hone drastically loses its efficiency if multiple of applications are installed in it.
